Bangkok to Prachuap Khiri Khan 290kms

Khlong Mai, Nakhon Pathom. This is actually a Wat. The Dragon extends from the ground all the way to the roof. The dragon is hollow and you can walk inside it, but the top of the building is usually inaccessible. Monks live on the second and third floors which you cannot access. The building may be converted to a university to teach new monks in the near future. The temple grounds are quite large the have many shrines in various animal shapes, including a huge turtle shaped entrance to a cave, and large elephant that makes an elephant noise when you put coin in it. Very large monitor lizards (some over 2 metres long), patrol the beautiful garden.
Ao Prachuap Bay, Prachuap Kiri Khan
Wang Duan, just south of Prachuap Khiri has a sign that boasts, "The Narrowest of Thailand - 10.96km".This is the narrowest point of Thailand’s Kra Isthmus, where the distance from the Gulf to the Myanmar border is less than 11 km, although the dogleg walking route is 13.4 km.
Prachuap Khiri Khan is one of the central provinces of Thailand located in the northern part of the Malay Peninsula, some 240 km south of Bangkok. Neighboring provinces are Phetchaburi in the north and Chumphon in the south. City of pure gold, delectable coconuts & pineapples, delightful beaches, mountains and caves, land of spiritual beauty. Prachuap Khiri Khan’s income comes mainly from fishing and agriculture, while tourism is largely focused on Hua Hin. Although the province beyond Hua Hin is not a major tourist spot, it is certainly rich in natural resources, including mountainous areas, islands, and relaxing beaches. The province also features several national parks, including Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park which was established to protect the largest freshwater marshes in Thailand.Prachuap Khiri Khan is an attractive alternative destination for visitors who want to avoid overcrowded resorts, while it is easily accessible from Bangkok. There are plenty of peaceful lesser-known attractions, particularly as you venture away from the main town. It is also a popular destination among Thais.

You never know what you will find for sale in a gas station. Almost anything.
