I have met so many wonderful people while on this trip. This is Nu who just invited me to have a beer with him & his girlfriend sitting outside my hotel. A very funny and generous guy. Thai people love that I wear my Buddha pendant which was given to me by a Thai policeman to keep me safe on my journey.
Wat Phra Singh. This temple which is also known as “The Monastery of the Lion Buddha” or “The temple of the Lion Buddha” is an active temple, with hundreds of monks and novices living there. The Wat Phra Singh houses a number of highly revered and very old Buddha images. Wat Phra Singh dates back to the 14th century when Chiang Mai was the capital of the Lanna Kingdom, and is one of the finest examples of classic Lanna style temple architecture in Northern Thailand.

Chiang Mai, 1 year ago....I went to get a haircut in this little Thai shop with this lovely lady & her daughter. I said number 3 all over, no problem said the lady. After two washes and two head massages I felt quite relaxed as I sat in the chair. Then the lady starts with the clippers. I feel this strange feeling against my scalp like its very short. When I look she has no comb on the clippers, ha ha. I tell her and she says don't worry and shows me her certificates from the Beauty school. So I said OK and she said "no problem". So new haircut. 120Baht. $4 Aus.
I love this statue.

Praying Mantis... I am staying in a very rustic rainforest type place in Chiang Mai. Talking to the lady owner last night over a glass of wine. We got onto the subject of insects (one of my favourite topics), showed her a couple of Aussie rainforest pics and se said she would take me to her friends garden where there are lots of bugs. So today we went visiting and there were some amazing ones, this is a blue/green Mantis.
As you head north you find many people don't speak any English and many sign are in Thai only.
The coffee shops get more colourful in the north.
I just walked in to a bar/restaurant in Loei and found this girl singing who had the most beautiful voice and who sang only in Thai. It was very soothing.
