Around Vientiane.

Vientiane, Laos.

Vientiane, Laos.

This delightfully friendly capital, studded with old French mansions, bougainvillea covered streets and noodle stalls, is somewhere between a big town and a diminutive city; the kind of place you might find a Graham Greene character. Its conveniently compact travellers’ enclave is based around Nam Phu, the Mekong riverside and Setthariat and Samsenthai streets. Full of things to see, from Buddha Park to the Morning market and a rich selection of international cuisine mostly French. For me sitting on the banks of the Mekong enjoying a Beer Lao at sunset at one of the many food stalls/restaurants. A very cool little town.

A nightclub on the river front.
Buy a bird and set it free.
Young Monks in the early morning.
Looking very out of place in Vientiane. A yellow Ferrari.
Monks in a Tuktuk.
Fresh fruit 7 juices everywhere.
Young Monks in a temple.
Sugary treats. A legacy from the French.
A very cute young girl who followed me around the Buddha park for a while. She seems quite fascinated but wouldn't speak.
Very cute young kids, the little girl kept turning the wrong way for the shot, but I like it just as it is.
The very smart & Funny Vilay whose family own the Win Hotel in Vientiane. A great host who knows almost everything about Laos and most of S.E. Asia.
Mannequins in a shop. They always seem to be european in Asian stores.
